U4GM Guide to ARC Raiders Update 1.33.0 Changes

ARC Raiders has rolled out a fresh live update, and players will notice a few things straight away, especially if they've been leaning on free loadouts. The big shift here is that some higher-value map conditions now lock those out, so if you want the better rewards, you'll need to bring your own kit and buy ARC Raiders Items carefully instead of treating the run like a no-risk throwaway. That alone changes the feel of the match. It gives every fight a bit more weight, and, honestly, that's what a lot of players have been asking for.

Free Loadouts Get a Reality CheckFor a while, free loadouts have been a sore spot in the community. They made it too easy for some players to jump into dangerous areas without any real downside. If things went bad, no big deal. That's exactly why people kept saying the system needed a rethink. Embark is not ripping it out everywhere just yet, but for now Night Raid and Close Scrutiny conditions will block free loadouts as a test. It is a small move, sure, but it feels like the start of a bigger correction. You can almost hear the studio watching the data and waiting to see how players react.

Forgotten Relics Brings a New GrindAt the same time, the new Forgotten Relics event is live. It works in a familiar way if you have played earlier ARC Raiders events. You earn Merits based on XP from your runs, then spend them on rewards. Hidden relics on each map give extra Merits, but only if you extract with them intact. That part matters. If you get greedy and get caught, you walk away with nothing. Progressing through the event also unlocks the Saltwalker Outfit, so there is something visual to chase while you work through the grind.

Converging Paths Adds More to DoThere is also a new project running from June 16 through July 27 called Converging Paths. It is a multi-step task tied to the Display Case uncovered relics, and each step pushes the project forward a little more. The rewards are not just filler either. Players can pick up a Red-Black version of the Saltwalker Outfit, a Sextant backpack charm, and some premium currency tokens along the way. It feels like Embark wants people to keep logging in without making the whole thing feel like a chore.

Patch 1.33.0 Tidies Up the Rough EdgesOutside the event stuff, patch 1.33.0 fixes a long list of problems that had been annoying players for weeks. Aiming down sights should feel more reliable now, and a few ugly movement bugs have been cleaned up too. There are also fixes for enemies, audio, social features, and inventory UI. The Rocketeer now drops Launcher Ammo, not Heavy Ammo, which is one of those changes that sounds tiny until you are in a bad fight and notice the difference. A bunch of small quality-of-life tweaks are in there as well, and those usually end up mattering more than people expect.

What This Means Going ForwardEmbark seems to be nudging ARC Raiders toward a more structured future. Major updates are now planned on a slower cycle, with bigger drops like Frozen Trail taking centre stage later this year. That gives the studio more room to test things like PvE-focused content, new map conditions, and changes to how risk works across the game. If you have been playing for a while, you can feel the shift. It is less about loud novelty and more about making the core loop hold up. And if you want to stay ready for whatever comes next, having the right ARC Raiders gear on hand will probably matter even more than it does now.
